A 73 RHD Australian import was used as the base for this build. stripped, blasted and then sent to Brick Kiln who took care of the bare metal paint work in the classic colours of Pastel white and Birch green. While the bus was with Brick Kiln we took care of ordering in the farbric for the seating from Germany, all the parts required for the rebuild from Vw Heritage, built the interior in house and booked in the trim work in house!!
Once the van returned as always in its stunning new finish we set to work on the bus to get it on the road and rolling. The van is fitted with our own G'day pop top roof lifted with gas struts. The canvas and headlining are all bespoke built for this bus.
The engine is a 2000cc VW Type 4 engine that is fueled with Twin 34 ict Weber carbs. All of the tinware has been blasted and then powder coated for a long lasting finish.
There are some lovely touches inside with the trim work being carried out to the customers exacting spec. the interior this is real wood interiors and the customer has had the units finished in honey wax. The camper has a 12v compressof fridge to keep things cool and a propex under van heater.
we ran the bus in for its first 500 miles. the customer has had the bus for 11 years but kept in a heated garage and in stunning conditon too.
