This was a lovely base vehicle that we had imported from Oz. The van was a '71 so an early bay with all the nice features such as small back lights and low light indicators etc. The van also benefits from being a disc brake model and being an Oz import it has a servo too.
The Fawell family had been out a couple of times to view and try to work out what worked best for them. In the end they decided the '71 was the year for them and the colour scheme they wanted was blue and white. This blue base vehicle was lurking in the back of our shed so seemed the ideal candidate.
This van is having a really high spec rebuild with hand made interior painted in pastel white and featuring real wood veneer tops and smev appliances. The trimming is in German vinyl and the scheme is cream and a light blue. The flooring is rubber floor tiles in bright red so this is going to be one classy vehicle specially with the snazzy Kath Kidston Strawberry curtains!
The engine will be a lively little Remtec 1641 with twin carbs and sports pipe, wrapped in freshly powder coated tineware the engine bay will look the bizz. The van is also being lowered and will sit nicely over a set of alloys.
The van was stripped down by us and sent to the amazing team at Brick Kiln racing for an awesome paint job.
Features such as a compressor fridge and propex will really turn this in to one seriously sweet ride...
