Mark and Em didn't want a standard Wanderer spec as they had sourced a lovely retro kitchen cabinet to install. The couple didn't want a standard two tone paint job either, the colour chosen as Mango green up to the roof and lotus white.
Once we had stripped out the RHD Australian import we had in stock the couple came to inspect the bus on our ramp before we started. We then got the thumbs up to continue with the project.
After spending a few weeks in our body shop it was off to Brick Kiln racing for a stunning paint job. The pop top roof fitted to the bus is one of our brand new roofs, this was installed with a new pop top canvas.
On the buses return we set about rebuilding it with one off features such as solid headlining and "that" FLOOR!! we must admit at this point that this was something the couple organised to their exact spec and had made for them, we just laid it!! full painted dash and engine bay, full re-wire, 12v leisure battery system with charger.
Mechanically the bus maintained it's standard ride height, but still had all new brakes, shocks, steering components and a fully rebuilt ssp engine with a 2 year warranty. All of the engine rebuild parts externally are new apart from the tinware which we had blasted and powder coated. The engine is a 2 litre running NOS Del'lorto 36 carbs.
As always we ran the bus in for 500 miles and completed the first service before the bus was cleaned ready for collection.
Full bespoke rebuild back in to stock. Lovely 1972 South African Import.
