A very high end build. We started with a rust free rhd import from South Africa. The next step then was to strip the bus down and blast off the original paint. once this was done the van was then checked over in our in-house welding shop. The boys did some fettling and then it was off to Brick Kiln racing for a full paint in a one off blue.
The whole build was based upon Daves Danbuy Brazilian bus that he was not too happy with!!! so he did the right thing and came to us to have a proper camper built!
On return from paint we installed a brand new pop top roof which we are the only people to have this copy of the Australian roof. trim wise Dave opted for A German fabric opposed to vinyl as he prefred the softness.
The interior is this bus was the first 7/8th interior that we produced in-house and the beauty of this interior is the fact that you still have a bed wider than a 3/4 width but with all important extra storage. The interior was constructed of birch ply and then spray lacquered by us in our booth. Rusty lee beds then produced us a bed to fit exactly and the nauctical stove and grill really make this interior special.
Mechanically the bus had a fully reconed engine from VW Heritage and this was fuelled via a twin set of 40mm Del'lorto carbs.
All in a very lovely bus and one that has completed many trips and festivals already.
Another Safari on the go. Dave is the owner of A Danbury Brazlilan import and really wanted something a touch more refined with more power so we are building him a Wanderer with our Brand new 2 litre engine coupled to our ALL NEW FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM WITH MAPABLE ECU.
stay tuned for more info
