Since purchase in 2018 Tom and Sophie have been down to Devon, over to the Le Mans classic as well Spain and numerours festivals. other than a solar panel issue and the steering box needing changing all is very well.
This stunning red and white late bay had been subjected to an extensive build through the Winter. Firstly we sourced a late bay RHD drive from South Africa. We then stripped the bus down and stored all the parts we required for future use.
The shell was then blasted inside and out and then etch primed to ensure no oxidation took place of the raw metal. With this stage complete we then set about cutting out any pitted or rusted panels and sections. With the welding complete we then primed the van and all panels and parts. We then "dry fitted" all the doors etc again to ensure all fitted correctly and then it was off to the paint shop.
Brick Kiln carried out another flawless paint job and whilst the bus was away the trim work was chosen and completed. We decided to do something a bit different from the normal all vinyl trim. A retro tweed weave was chosen to be the in-fill panel and seat bases along with German vinyl for the rest of the panels and seating.
The g'day pop top was manufactured along with all new headlining. Once the van was back with us then we installed the lower roof cap, LED lighthing and then the new headlining. with this complete the brand new canvas and roof cap were installed and then it was on with the rest of the build.
The van is now awaiting registration and is ready to go from mid March 2018. This build really does have everything, well apart from some curtains, we thought we would let the new owners choose these!
Mechanically the bus is running a full servo brake system with all new mechanicals, power steering, 2 litre rebuilt engine and 2 litre gearbox. lowered suspension takes care of the wobbling in a cross wind and a DAB stereo system..
As with all our buses this has had the fuel tank and system fully cleaned inspected and all rubber parts replaced. This really is an as new bus and in RHD specification this is very rare indeed.
Spec wise the bus has the following spec and parts:
