Classic VW Camper Lowering

We have extensive experience lowering classic Volkswagen camper vans while retaining a practical, usable vehicle.

Suspension, steering, ride height, shocks and associated components all need to be considered together.

The aim isn't simply to make a camper look lower — it needs to remain safe, predictable and enjoyable to drive.

LiteSteer Power Steering Installation

G'day Kombis is an approved LiteSteer power steering fitting centre.

Electric power steering can transform the driving experience of a classic VW camper, particularly when manoeuvring at low speed, parking or driving around town.

We can supply and install LiteSteer systems as part of an upgrade to your classic VW camper.

E10 Fuel Upgrades for Classic VW Campers

Ethanol fuel is an increasingly important consideration for owners of older Volkswagen campers.

We can inspect and upgrade vulnerable fuel-system components, including fuel lines, tank connections, breathers and other components where required, using appropriate ethanol-resistant materials.

If your camper smells of petrol, don't ignore it.

A fuel smell can indicate deteriorating hoses, connections, seals or other components that need attention.

Classic VW Camper Welding & Restoration

Rust and corrosion are unfortunately part of classic VW ownership.

We carry out restoration welding and MOT welding on classic VW campers, from individual repairs through to larger restoration projects.

Our experience working on Bay Windows and Splitscreens means we understand the structure and common corrosion areas of these vehicles.

Where possible, our approach is to repair properly rather than simply cover up a problem.

Classic VW Camper Assessments & Appraisals

Buying a classic VW camper can be exciting — but it can also be expensive if you don't know what you're looking at.

We can assess and appraise classic Volkswagen campers and provide an experienced view of the vehicle's condition, mechanical requirements and potential areas of concern.

MOT Failures & MOT Work

Classic VW campers still need to be properly maintained and safe for the road.

If your Volkswagen camper has failed its MOT, we can investigate the reasons for failure and carry out the necessary repairs.

We also offer MOT preparation and general checks for owners who want their camper assessed before taking it for its test.

Classic VW carburettors need to be correctly set up to make the engine run properly.

We can rebuild, balance and tune carburettors, including twin-carburettor systems, as well as carrying out timing and general engine tuning.

Correct carburettor setup can make a dramatic difference to starting, idle quality, throttle response, fuel consumption and overall drivability.

Not every owner wants a full restoration.

Sometimes the best way to improve an original camper is with a series of carefully chosen upgrades.

Our experience began with importing vehicles from Australia and preparing them for the UK market. Over the years we have built hundreds of buses and developed an extensive portfolio of completed projects.
